Landscapes in Oil Pastels
Oil pastel is an excellent medium for doing landscapes ( not only landscapes, but anything ). I think this medium is not much exploited by our artists unlike the western artists. There they have even the societies of artists who work exclusively on oil pastels. Here we set aside this medium mainly for kids. Sometimes used in lieu of wax crayons. But they are not crayons. This is rich in pigments bound using oil. We can even try it with some linseed oil. The rough texture of some handmade paper gives an interesting finish! With good practice one can do wonders with this medium. More over it is very cheap ( not in terms of the quality.... ). Next time try something different using this medium.
